Zuma Blu Cycling Club

The Zuma Blu Cycling Club is for Parkies, Parki-lovers, and anyone who wants to sweat to make a positive change in the world. No matter your age, cycling experience, or the kind of bike you ride (indoor bikes count, too!), when you use the Strava app to track your miles, you help us raise $ for PD while naturally combatting the symptoms of PD (it's science). Best of all, it's FREE!
Click the Strava logo, below, to join the club. Then go to the P.O.P. Facebook Group Page to wrangle up some Parkies for a group ride! (Tip: we've provided a quick start guide at the bottom of this page to help get you on the bike faster).

Quick Start Guide

Step 1: Create an account on Strava

  • Download the Strava app on your iPhone or Android
  • Open the Strava app and create an account. (Tip: skip some setup by signing-in with Facebook)
  • Optional: Click "Profile" in the bottom menu and provide some basic details

Step 2: Join the P.O.P. Cycling Club

  • Click "More" in the bottom-right hand corner
  • Click "Clubs" at the top of the screen
  • Click the magnifying glass icon in the top-right corner
  • Search "power out parkinson's"
  • Click on the club listing
  • Click the big orange "JOIN" button at the bottom of the screen!

Step 3: Start Riding!

  • Choose how you want to record your ride
    • iPhone & Android. Click the "Record" button at the bottom of the main view panel to record your ride on your phone.
    • Garmin Connect. You can track your miles with your Garmin Connect device and automatically sync your rides to the Strava app:
      • Click "More" in the bottom-right hand corner
      • Click "Settings" toward the middle of the screen
      • Click "Link Other Services"
      • Click "Garmin Connect"
      • Follow the steps to link your Garmin Connect account with Strava
      • Indoor Cyclists. You can either record your stationary bike ride with a Garmin Connect device or manually update your ride. Read this article for more information.
      • Record your post-ride notes. Review your stats (e.g., route, elevation, avg. speed, etc.), add some ride notes and pick some ride photos directly from your phone!

      Step 4: Invite your friends to join the P.O.P. Cycling Club to make things a little more interesting
